Cortex Plus is a bit more "narrative," with some player authorial control via assets and complications that arise during play. They look kinda similar, with the die types for trait ratings, but are pretty different under the hood. I haven't played it or read any of the variants, but the mechanics seem like they would be absolutely perfect for a similar genre experience.
